Creative Critical Reflection Research Blog Posts - Part 2

For another approach I could take for the Creative Critical Reflection, alongside the podcast I could also do a hybrid of a video essay and directors cut . Using video clips and frames from my project, alongside pre written commentary and notes, I speak about the decisions behind why the project was filmed as is to also answer the questions. It would be simple to do, as I would need my mobile device and computer to record and write down my scripts of notes of what I want to say. Before recording, I would go through and decide how I want to answer the CCR questions, then moving onto how I would give analysis and explanation to my decisions. At the same time I could also start thinking of how I want to explain and analyze my video clips from my project to be overlaid on the screen to help emphasize my points and give an audience a way to visualize and see what I'm talking about without seeing my face all the time and having to guess. This will also require editing where the final piece to answer the CCR questions while using the video essay/directors commentary format has clips of the project opening sequence itself alternating with my face and of me speaking and explaining. Using CapCut as the video editing tool will be sufficient, having used it before for the portfolio project. This approach would be more work than the podcast as previously chosen, but is still achievable with effort and thought of how I want to approach this part of the CCR.
