Introduction Blog Post

AICE Media Studies, quite an interesting class it is when you consider that it is not your average curriculum class. A type of movie I would like to make could be something along the lines of a mystery, and probably toss in some elements of suspense in the process. Mystery movies are quite interesting when you consider how everything can be unexplained, hidden meanings and trivial elements in plain (or not) sight, and the potential for action. Let's face it, we have probably seen a movie (or book, or TV show, I guess) before that starts off with someone or something missing, and the piece of work proceeds and slowly but surely reveals more details, clues, and suspense along the way. Mystery movies with some action and suspense could (theoretically) keep an audience engaged and making it easy enough to follow (and not be too confusing to understand, or unless the film was deliberately made that way) and could appeal to wide audiences. Now, you could probably throw in a good storyline about something such as a local mystery, a disappearance of an important figure in someone's life, and the ability to incorporate a wider range of characters and personalities as a result. To clarify, this would not be some kind of simple murder mystery where everyone is running around finding clues to accuse each other, but something that could take place in the real world. As a result, it would require the skills of individuals to apply themselves to the real world to try to solve such mysterious circumstances they find themselves in. Over the course of such movie, you could have characters grow and improve with themselves, such as discovering more about their strengths and weaknesses, but a mystery movie requiring the application of a person to the real world could bring out the best and the worst in them throughout. This is an idea for our first blog post!
